Bobcat introduces electric skid steer loader

lynx S7X Slipwheel loadersIt is a 60.5 kWh lithium ion batterypowered all-electric motor. Following the introduction of the all-electric T7X compact track loader in 2022, thegoogleThis skid steer prototype uses electric drive motors and utilizes ball screw actuators for lift and tilt functions.

According to Bobcat.batteriesand electric drivetrain together produce three times the instantaneous torque of conventional loaders. The loader balances thesustainabilityand performance with zero emissions and outperforms thediesel fuelPower similar loaders.

According to Bobcat, the Bobcat S7X skid steer loader can run for up to eight hours on a single charge, depending on the application, with most operators working more than a full day when breaks and downtime are taken into account.

A full charge takes approximately 10 hours.

Mt DooIn a prepared statement, Joel Honeyman, Bobcat's vice president of global innovation, said, “As the inventor of the original skid steer loader, we're excited to utilize the same machine that created thesectorof the machine and reinvent it.”

Bobcat has partnered with Moog, Inc. a global developer of motion control components and systems for industries such as aerospace, defense and construction. Bobcat also continues to work with Viridi (creator of Green Machine Products) on lithium-ion, fail-safe battery systems. Bobcat has also partnered with Moog and Viridi through their work on the T7X.

No timetable was announced for when the machine would become commercially available.
