Bobcat launches electric skid steer loader

lynx S7X Skid SteerLoaderis a 60.5 kWh lithium-ion batteryFully electric machine powered by electricity. Following the launch of the all-electric T7X compact track loader in 2022,GoogleThis skid-steer prototype employs an electric drive motor and utilises ball screw actuators to achieve its lifting and tilting functions.

According to Lynx,BatteryThe instantaneous torque generated in conjunction with the electric drive system is three times that of conventional loaders. This loader balancesSustainabilityand performance with zero emissions, while outperformingdieselPower-driven loaders of the same type.

According to Bobcat, the Bobcat S7X skid-steer loader can operate for up to eight hours on a single charge, depending on the application. Taking into account rest periods and downtime, most operators' working days extend beyond a full day.

A full charge takes approximately 10 hours.

Bobcat has partnered with Moog, Inc., a global developer of motion control components and systems for industries including aerospace, defence and construction. Bobcat also continues its collaboration with Viridi, creator of green machinery products, to develop lithium-ion, fail-safe battery systems. Bobcat has further collaborated with Moog and Viridi through its work on the T7X.

No timeline has been announced for when the machine will enter commercial service.
