Shell establishes an electrified mining team

Shell has partnered with eight organisations to establish an alliance aimed at providing mining sites withElectrificationSolutionspilot product.

The organisation's members include Skeleton, Microvast, Stäubli, Carnegie Robotics, Heliox, Spirae, Alliance Automation, Worley and Shell.

The company stated that this pilot project represents Shell's off-road vehicle mining electrification solution, an end-to-end and interoperable electrification system that can be implemented without compromisingefficiencyor safety, while aiming to reduce emissionsdieselPower operations offer a cost advantage. This pilot product combines high-power capabilities with ultra-fast charging functionality.BatterySolutions and Standardised MicrogridsEnergyThe system, wherein the required solutions can be supplemented by on-site or grid-connected renewable generation.

• Ultra-fast charging: Through flexible, wear-resistant and resilient on-site ultra-fast charging points, charging time is approximately 90 seconds, enabling assets to maintain continuous operation in the most challenging environments.
