This collaboration supports Bobcat in launching a new autonomous zero-turn mower, which will be released in limited quantities by the end of 2023. The company states that further details will be announced shortly.
The Bobcat automatic mower is designed to operate in conjunction with software developed by Greenzie, featuring ride-on and repeat functions. Operators can plot routes and mark areas for the mower to avoid during automated operation. The zero-turn mower detects both known and unknown objects while navigating prescribed paths, allowing operators to undertake other tasks and maximise worksite efficiency. The machine utilises mapping to execute repeatable, precise routes; all of which can be managed or edited via a simple smartphone application.
Through this investment, Bobcat and Greenzie will join forces to accelerate the development of autonomous capabilities and solutions within Bobcat's product line.
Charles Brian Quinn, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Greenzie, stated: “We are delighted to have secured our largest funding round to date through a strategic investment from an industry leader such as Bobcat.” “Our customers urgently require solutions to help them overcome their greatest challenge: labour shortages. Our software enables workers to enhance productivity and will operate on the reliable, robust Bobcat equipment they trust.”
