Autonomous truck test completes 300-mile delivery

A pilot project in Texas tested Kodiak Robotics Autonomous drivinglorryThe capability to transport IKEA products from the Beaton distribution centre to the Frisco store, covering approximately 300 miles. This pilot project will operate seven days a week.
This autonomous lorry is operated by a professional safety driver, who collects a fully loaded trailer from the distribution centre each morning and oversees the automated deliveries to shops later in the afternoon.
Kodiaq stated that the primary objective of this trial was to gain a better understanding of how its autonomous driving technology could enhance road safety and provide improved working conditions for long-haul lorry drivers.
