New Deere plant to produce battery electric components in Kernersville

John Deere acquired a majority stake in Kreisel in 2022, which produces products used toelectric vehicleand fixed systemsbatteriestechnology and full 3-stage chargingprescriptionAccording to Deere & Company, the planned production facility could support a capacity of up to 2 GWh. According to Deere & Company, the planned production facility can support up to 2 GWh of production capacity. The plant is expected to begin production in 2025.

We are designing the technology innovations they will rely on to do just that. John Deere is working with Kreisel to expand itselectrificationproduct portfolio to include more scalable solutions for a broader range of customer applications.” 

This new plant will support increased capacity to serve the North American off-highway market, the company said. John Deere is also equipping a facility to enable the production of batteries at its plant in Salan, France, which is the main manufacturing location for John Deere engines in Europe.

The new plant will be equipped to produce Kreisel battery pack designs and CHIMERO battery levelequipment to reinforce its commitment to helping John Deere and OEMs respond to the rapidly changing electrification landscape.
