Ohio, Indiana agree to test “partially automated” trucks

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and DriveOhio, an Ohio government organization focused on perfecting “smart mobility technology,” are launching a four-year, $8 million program that will partially automate semi-mobile vehicles.trucksPush the road to both states.
That will include testing on Interstate 70 in the Dayton and Springfield areas, according to the Dayton Daily News.
A supervisor at DriveOhio said these are notautomatic drivingVehicles.
“Every vehicle will be driven by a professional driver, so the term ‘self-driving” is not accurate,“ said Breanna Badanes, DriveOhio's managing director of communications and policy. ”These vehicles cannot drive themselves."
