Verizon said that for those customers who have made the switch to electric vehicles, Reveal's new update makes it easy for customers to manage their electric and gasoline-powered vehicles by viewing from a single platform the electric vehicle's charging andbatteriesstatus information to extend uptime and more.

Beginning next month, Verizon Connect Reveal customers in the U.S. and Canada will be able to more efficiently support all types of vehicles, including gasoline-powered vehicles and electric vehicles, in one management platform. These enhancements will support all Reveal customers, including government, small and medium business (SMB), and large enterprise customers with battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles with OBD-II standard protocols.

EV implementation planning can be evaluated based on data and analytics from the Verizon Connect Reveal fleet management software platform. The data the team can extract on miles driven, vehicle wear and tear, vehicle tracking and location, utilization, and more can inform fleet EV planning decisions, including the number of EVs rolled out in the first phase as well as future investments, charging infrastructure plans, EV maintenance, EV storage and yardage, and more.

Peter Mitchell, senior vice president and general manager of Verizon Connect, said, “Electric vehicle adoption rates arecontinuous growth, by analyzing just one month's worth of data, business owners can better understand the introduction of electric vehicles into their fleets.” “Once they have made their decision, the new enhancements to EVs in Reveal will support their evolving hybrid fleet management needs.”

What EV fleet managers can expect from the new release:

• EV Icons: Quickly identify which EVs are charging on Reveal's live map.
• Mobile app support: manage people and fleets with the location and status of ICE vehicles, EVs and assets in the Verizon Connect Spotlight app.
• Charge Status: The charge status informs which EVs are actively charging at any given time.
• Battery Level: Near real-time battery level percentage to identify which EVs in the fleet have the highest/lowest battery levels.
• Reports: new EV-specific reports, including charging data.
• EV Alerts: Configurable alerts for electric vehicles experiencing “low battery”.
