Cummins and Chevron expand low-carbon partnership

Cummins (brand)cap (a poem)Chevron (oil company)US announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to capitalize on complementary positioning in the hydrogen, natural gas and other low-carbon fuels value chain. The announcement expands the companies' previous strategic collaboration on hydrogen and renewable natural gas and is expected to cover other liquid renewable fuels such as renewable gasoline blends, biodiesel fueland renewable diesel. The partnership is designed to encourage commercial and industrial adoption in North America.

“At Cummins, we are working hard to put our ‘Destination Zero” strategy into practice, and we recognize that we can't do it alone,“ said Jennifer Rumsey, Cummins president and CEO, in a statement. "Through Cummins Accelera, we have leading-edge zero-emission technologies for commercial and industrial applications, and we will continue to offer a broad range of engine-basedprescriptionportfolio to reduce today's greenhouse gas and other emissions. Through our strategic partnership with Chevron, we plan to improve our customers” access to fuels and infrastructure to help increase the availability of alternative and renewable fuels while reducing emissions."

Cummins and Chevron have each contributed to the research, development and global deployment of alternative fuel innovations, systems and technologies, and will work together to achieve commercial development of alternative fuel production, transportation and delivery systems at scale for industrial and commercial markets, with target consumption levels for Cummins-built transportation vehicles. The work of the new collaboration will focus on hydrogen, natural gas and other alternative low-carbon intensity fuels such as renewable gasoline blends, biodiesel, renewable diesel, compressed natural gas and other liquidrenewable energy, to expand commercial applications.
