In the largest construction project to date, RochesterUniversityis utilising uniqueConstruction equipmentto implement its new emergency department and patient tower.
Pile driverWorkers are permitted to vibrate metal plates weighing several thousand pounds into the ground to establish a solid foundation for the building. This will minimise noise and vibration within the finished patient care areas.
The piling rig facilitates this process and reduces the amount of heavy protective clothing personnel need to wear in hot weather.
The University of Rochester aims to complete the project by 2027.
