Komatsu and Honda collaborate to produce electric mini excavators in Japan

Komatsu and Honda have combined their expertise in interchangeable mobile units.BatteryHonda Mobile Power Pack e: and Honda eGX Electric Power Unit, for PC01 Traditional Microexcavatorcarry outElectrificationThe PC01E-1 was developed. Traditional models are typically employed for pipe-laying operations near people, trees and plants, as well as in horticulture and agriculture.

The PC01E-1 model, through its electrification, not only significantly reduces noise and heat dissipation but also enables environmentally friendly and comfortable operation in both indoor and outdoor settings, as it produces no exhaust emissions. As the battery is replaceable, customers can continue working by simply swapping it out.

Komatsu stated that due to its new electric motor delivering high performance even at low speeds, the PC01E-1 model achieves greater excavation at low speeds compared to conventional models. As no engine is fitted, customers will no longer require engine-related maintenance or refuelling, reducing daily inspections and upkeep.
